Court drops case in nude photo shoot at NYC museum – November 23, 2009

NEW YORK — Nude, yes. Lewd, no.

A New York judge dismissed public lewdness and other charges Monday against a model who posed for a nude photo shoot at a museum while visitors looked on.

Kathleen “K.C.” Neill was arrested in August during photographer Zach Hyman’s shoot in the arms and armor department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Defense lawyer Thomas J. Hillgardner says Neill did nothing indecent while posing in an institution full of depictions of nudes. He says she was making art and he noted court rulings saying public nakedness isn’t necessarily lewd.

Prosecutors say they aren’t sure they could prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.

The museum had no immediate comment. Hyman calls the charges “completely absurd.”

On a recent warm autumn day I decided to use the outdoor shower. I’d never used it before other than for a quick rinse off. The weather was so beautiful that I decided to take my morning shower outdoors. It was a unique and wonderful feeling washing my body and hair while looking at the beautiful fall foliage and hearing the birds singing. There is no privacy fence around the shower so one gets an unobstructed view of the beautiful scenery. I am certain I will be doing it again soon.

Nude at Home

Now that the hot humid days are behind us, my wife and I are again appreciating another benefit of living in a nude or clothing optional community. We have almost all the window shades and blinds in our home open all day and night, and we are nude. We can sit in almost room and enjoy the picturesque views around us. As I am writing this, the sun is shining, and I can see palm trees, banana trees, and the birds flying. Other than to keep out the heat of summer, there are not many other reasons to block the windows and sliding glass door.
